That’s right, the previous issue marked the ten year anniversary of Spearing Magazine being delivered to your door and distributed worldwide to

spearfishermen. WOW.

From our humble beginnings in 2008 we have strived to bring you the top spearfishing articles, reviews, products and adventures from around the globe. Our focus has always been and always will be the camaraderie of our amazing sport. Trophy fish are always a highlight but it’s the memories with friends that we hold onto forever. I’d like to think we assist in that by documenting those memories in print for all to share.

So where do we go from here?

Well, we have a lot in the works for the future. Our website will be receiving a much needed shot in the arm focusing on our blog with consistent updates including articles, real reviews, tips and techniques from some of the top shooters in the world. It will be a place for the beginner to find some answers and the experienced to research their next spearfishing destination. Direct links to featured advertisers products, product reviews, as well as, whom to contact to take that trip of a lifetime. It will be a full connected web that encompasses what we do, what we do it with and where we choose to do it. Seeing that our sport isn’t a catch and release situation, we will keep the blog updated with new recipes to keep those mouths watering. Think of it as an unbiased, one stop shop for most of your spearfishing needs.

We plan on including a list of regulations per state on available fish species to attempt to keep the constant rule and regulation changes straight. We will also keep you up to date on pending legislation that may affect the areas and fish you choose to target.

In addition, we are working to give all those ultra talented underwater photographers some love. In the near future we plan on building a gallery to allow you the reader to purchase images seen in our pages. The proceeds aren’t for us, but will go to the photographer who captured the image. It’s a small way for us to say thanks to the amazing imagery submitted in each issue. These individuals do an amazing job with little fame and we are excited to offer a hand.
